First Congregational Church - on the corner of Fourth and Oak Streets.
The Church is on the National and Michigan Historical Registers. Built in the late 1800's, rare stained glass windows are spectacular and include 2 Tiffany windows, and has Romanesque architecture.

Founded in 1888, and completed in 1891 with a 170 ft. spire. A turn of the century pipe organ with 28 stops and 1600 pipes located in the choir loft, and a carillon (chime of 12 massive bells) located in the steeple are played regularly. The lighted steeple can be seen for miles.

The Manistee County Library is an original Carnegie Library completed in 1905. The building has been designated an historical site on state and federal registers.
